About & History

The Corvette Club of Manitoba was incorporated in 1971, the second oldest of 25 Corvette Clubs in Western Canada. We celebrated our 45th Anniversary in 2016. Club membership has exceeded 200+ members some years. All 7 Generations of Corvettes are represented from the 1st (C1) to the 7th (C7).

In addition to car related activities, as a non-profit organization, the club raises funds by means of our Annual Awards Banquet fundraiser for our charity of choice, The Dream Factory. We also provide Christmas hampers and donate to other causes from time to time.

The Club consists of elected executive officers, appointed officers and a general membership, all governed with by-laws. An Annual General Meeting in January is dedicated to the election to the Club Executive. The elected offices are President, Vice President, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Fifth Director and Sixth Director. Appointed officers include: Apparel, Communications, Competition, Manitoba Association of Auto Clubs Representative and Canadian Council of Corvette Clubs Representative. Other working committees are appointed as required. Club membership dues are paid at the January general meeting.

Club general meetings are convened at 7:30 pm on the last Tuesday of every month, often preceded by dinner at 6:00 pm. The business portion lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Recognition of exceptional contributions to the Club is provided by the selection of Male and Female Member of the Year and Rookie of the Year. An established point system based on attendance, volunteering and organizing aids in the selection of award winners.

The Club produces a monthly newsletter, CORVETTE CONNECTION, incorporating a classified section.

The official sponsor of our Club is Murray Chevrolet who, in addition to an annual donation to the club, provides members with a discount arrangement for parts and services.

The Corvette Club of Manitoba is a charter member of the Canadian Council of Corvette Clubs and hosted the CCCC Annual Convention in 2011, our 40th Anniversary year. Our Competition Committees have historically organized CCCC sanctioned rally and slalom events, providing the requisite instructions, insurance and timing equipment necessary for a safe competition.
